Steps to Follow For Appling the Woodoc 50 Marine Exterior Sealer
Preparation
- General: Ensure wood is clean, dry, and smooth. Never wash or wipe wood with water before application.
- New Wood: Sand until smooth, remove dust with a clean, dry cloth, then wipe with mineral turpentine.
- Previously Varnished Wood: Remove varnish by sanding or using a paint stripper. Neutralize the paint stripper, allow the wood to dry, sand until smooth, remove dust with a clean, dry cloth, then wipe with mineral turpentine.
- Oiled Wood: Sand until smooth, scrub well with SteelWool and mineral turpentine, clean off residue with a clean, dry cloth, and allow the surface to dry.
- Wood Previously Treated with Woodoc: Scrub well with SteelWool and mineral turpentine, clean off residue with a clean, dry cloth, and allow the surface to dry.
How to Apply the Woodoc 50 Marine Exterior Sealer
- Stir well before and during application. Do not shake or dilute the product.
- Apply with a good-quality brush. Apply the first coat until the surface remains evenly glossy for at least 10 minutes.
- Apply more product to dull/dry areas and allow the coat to dry completely.
- Sand lightly with SteelWool, remove dust with a clean, dry cloth, then wipe with mineral turpentine.
- Apply two more coats in the same way. Do not sand after the third coat.
Cleanup
- Always apply a minimum of three coats.
- Ensure proper film is built on the surface.
- Seal the end grain very well.
- Store the product in a dry, covered area at temperatures between 10°C and 30°C.
