Steps to Follow for Applying Duram 88 Stone Chip | 1L, Grey
Preparation
- Ensure substrates are clean, dry, and free from contaminants.
- Prime bare metal with NS5 Metcote Etch Primer.
- Treat rust with NS1 Rust Buster if necessary.
- Abrade painted surfaces to a matt finish before application.
- Prime fibre‑glass with NS5 Metcote Etch Primer.
Application
- Spray (Coarse texture): Use 4mm bore gravity spray gun at 3–4 bars, 500mm distance. Dry 8 hrs at 20℃.
- Spray (Smooth finish): Dilute with 15–20% water, use 1.5mm bore spray gun at 4–5 bars, 450–500mm distance. Dry 3–4 hrs at 20℃.
- Brush/Roller: Apply one coat evenly; allow to dry before recoating.
- Overcoating: Can be overcoated with 2K Polyurethanes or Duco once fully hard dry.
Cleanup
- Clean overspray with water before drying.
- Store under cover in cool, dry conditions.
