Musical Birdies Decoupage Paper

1. Paint the wooden item with craft paint and let dry completely. Apply second coat if necessary.
2. Seal the paint with 1 or 2 coats of deco podge to prevent accidental damage to the surface.
3. Use Deco Podge to stick the Decoupage Print to the painted surface. Apply the Deco Podge to the area where the print will be positioned, as well as to the back of the print.
4. Put the print on the wet Podge. Gently rub out the air and Podge bubbles with your paint brush(wet Podge brush) or a decoupage roller. Let dry thoroughly. Work neatly. (Have a clean damp cloth handy to remove any excess podge.)
5. Apply 3 to 4 coats of Deco Podge on your project. Each coat should be completely dry before the next is applied.
6. If necessary sand down lightly with water sandpaper where the Deco Podge has formed ridges during the application.
7. Let dry for at least 48 hours, then seal with an appropriate varnish. At least 3 coats should be applied. Be sure to let each coat dry completely before applying the next.
