Steps to Follow for Using Duram Urethane Wood Varnish

1. Stir varnish thoroughly with flat paddle for 5 minutes

2. Ensure surface is clean, dry, and free of contaminants

3. Sand wood with 80–100 grit paper; wipe off dust with damp cloth

4. Apply in dust-free area between 5°C and 35°C

5. Use natural bristle brush, foam roller, or air-assisted spray

6. Apply 2–3 coats in direction of wood grain

7. Allow 8 hours drying time between coats (add 6 hours in cold/wet weather)

8. Final coat requires 12 hours before closing doors/windows

9. Sand lightly between coats if fibres are raised

10. Coat end grain, joints, and exposed backs thoroughly

Preparation

• Bare Wood: Sand, fill grain if needed, wipe clean

• Previously Varnished Wood: Sand to matte finish, test patch recommended

• Flaking Surfaces: Remove loose paint/varnish, use Duram EcoStripp or DuraStripp if needed

• Moisture Content: Ensure wood is below 14% moisture

1. Stir well before use

3. Dilute with 5–10% Mineral Turpentine if required
