How to Apply Gripseal Everwood Water-Based Oil

Preparation:

• Sand the wood down to raw wood before applying the product for optimal absorption.

Application Steps:

1. Step 1: Ensure the wood surface is clean, dry, and smooth. Sand new wood in the direction of the grain to a smoothed but porous finish.
2. Step 2: For previously coated or oiled wood, sand off the old layer or use a paint stripper, ensuring all residue is removed.
   • If the wood has been treated with Everwood before, simply wipe down the surface and rub with 180-grit sandpaper or steel wool for a smooth finish.
3. Step 3: Apply 3 thin, even coats using a paintbrush, roller, sponge brush, or spray gun. Allow 45 minutes between coats and 24 hours for full curing. Clean applicators with water immediately after use.

Maintenance:

Apply a maintenance coat every 12 to 24 months depending on exposure. Re-coating is easy and doesn’t require sanding.

Coverage:

• Softwoods: 8-10m² per litre per coat
• Hardwoods: 10-12m² per litre per coat

Suitable Wood Types:

• Garage doors, window frames, doors, gates, garden furniture, wendy houses, shutters, docks, picket fences, and jungle gyms.
• For dense woods like Balau, Saligna, and African Rosewood, test a small area first to ensure proper absorption.

Health and Safety

Always wear protective gloves and eye protection when applying the product. Do not apply over varnish or any other coatings—only apply to raw, sanded wood. Keep out of reach of children and pets during the application process.
