Steps to Follow For Applying the Powa Glaze Fast Drying Putty
Preparation
- Ensure surfaces are dry with less than 10% moisture content.
- For steel frames: Remove loose particles, sand high-gloss areas, treat rust with Powafix Rust Mate, and prime with a suitable metal primer.
- For timber frames: Remove loose particles, sand high-gloss areas, clean with sugar soap, and prime with boiled linseed oil.
How to Apply the Powa Glaze
- Work putty by hand until smooth.
- Press into the back section of the window frame before placing the glass.
- Shape and smooth with a putty knife.
- Place the glass securely and ensure it is well-supported.
- Roll putty into a sausage shape and apply around the frame, smoothing with a knife.
- Prime-dried putty with a Universal Undercoat before painting.
